Spring has Sprung!

Jack is obsessed with all things cars, including the movie "Cars." We finally broke down and bought it this weekend. This is the look of a boy who could not look away from his beloved Lightning McQueen! Ka-Chow!

We had a great time at Evan's 2nd birthday party celebration this weekend.

We finally planted our garden. We decided when Jack was born that we would celebrate his birthday (and life) by planting life. For his first birthday, we planted a Crepe Myrtle tree at the Willow Wood house in Atlanta. This year, we planted a Rose vine that already has some yellow rose buds on it! We plan to guide it so it climbs over the front entry way so it smells beautiful everytime we come and go! It will be fun to visit all of Jack's "trees" over the years.

Cock-a-doodle-doo! (I had to).

Phlox and Hydrangaes are the newest addition! Maybe we should have planted some "impatiens" because I can't wait for them to spread and fill in.

Aaron gave me a new birdhouse for my birthday! It kinda looks like our house, which is fun. Hoepfully we'll have some tenants soon!

Our April board. Usually we have writing on here, but the day we made it, it was raining to beat the band! And thankfully we had an 80 degree weekend. As you can see, Jack helped me make some raindrops (lower RH corner). They are his specialty!

Nightingale Turns 1

Jack's dear friend, Nightingale (a.k.a. Niya), turned 1 on Saturday. We all had a great time celebrating this sweet child!

Happy Birthday, Jack

Our sweet boy turned 2 today! What an adventure it has been, Jack. We have enjoyed chasing you at the beach and watching you run with the seagulls. You are the light of our lives.

Sheila's Visit

Sheila flew in to visit from Texas this week. It was wonderful having her near! Jack loved every waking moment with his aunt "She." He has changed so much since she last saw him in September, but he's still the sweet boy who loves to hold hands, makes "choo choo" sounds and plays with his trucks and cucks (cars) til the cows come home. We had a fun hike at the lake, visited some of the neighboring towns, and spent most afternoons breaking in the new front porch swing (thanks to the 70 degree weather!) Spring is on its way! Sheila, we miss you already and wish you lived closer. Y'all come back now, ya hear?

Snow Angels in NC!

We woke up to several inches of snow this morning! This is the second time Jack has seen the white stuff. This year I think it made more of an impression on him, though! We are also celebrating Obama's inauguration today. What a day!
