Carrboro Music Festival

We loved walking the streets of one of our favorite little nearby towns during the Carrboro Music Festival. Jack is fast and loves fun, but he is definitely on the cautious side. Imagine our surprise when he wanted to stand in line for one of the steepest slides I've ever seen. Thank goodness for daddies who don't mind taking the plunge!

Not too sure about this!

Too late now! Here we go! 1...2...

3...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Land's End

We took in the gifts NC mountains have to offer. Favorite moments include throwing sticks and stones to Max, watching several sunsets from the porch, eating soup, and seeing dear friends at the Labor Day picnic at The Bear Hutt. Ahhhh, thank God for the little things in life that bring happiness.

Jack's First Day of Preschool

Contrary to what the pictures show, Jack was very excited for his first day of preschool! He just didn't want to the forced photo op before we got into the car. Once at his new school, he literally ran down the hall to his room yelling out all of the colors he was seeing along the way! So proud of our "baby."

Summer's End in Michigan

We kicked off the visit to Michigan with a surprise playdate with Kim and Laura and kids. Then we headed up to Snover for some good ol' quality time with grandma and grandpa Marz.

Out of Towners

We have had an influx of visitors this month! Chris, Aaron's dearest friend from a million years ago (a.k.a., high school), came through town on his road trip back to Portland, Oregon. He brought his beautiful, furry friend, Neo. We also had a visit from old Atlanta friends. Jack and his little buddy held hands for almost 3 days straight! The door is always open in Apex! All visitors welcome!

At the NC State Zoo. One of the first times Jack has been in a stroller for a year! He is a runner (understatement of the century) and hasn't cared for his stroller in quite some time. It was a nice, enjoyable break to not have to chase after him for one morning!

Stopping to smell the flowers, which is something I've tried to teach Jack from early on.
He takes it quite literally!

Off they go!

Visit with the Fs!

Fun was had by all during the eagerly awaited visit from grandma and grandpa Fleischauer. We went to the Carolina Inn for Bluegrass on the porch in Chapel Hill, hit the neighborhood pool for some much needed cooling off, and cheered on the Bulls at a baseball game in Durham!
